1. Building the Company Master List

The master list of companies is the foundation upon which all other information is built.  Everything added to MRSware is linked to your master list - orders, invoices, appointments, journals, tasks, opportunities, and more.  In MRSware use Companies and Contacts/Individuals to build your company master list.

What are the steps in building a company master list?
  • ​Segmenting Leads, Prospects, Customers
    • Types - use a broad descriptor to name the kinds of companies in the list
    • Categories - set up a consistent, company-wide list of categories to further characterize each company
  • Separating and tracking Branch Locations
    • Naming conventions - use consistent key words to reflect different locations for the same company
    • Contact Import - add contacts/individuals 
    • Merge Duplicates - eliminate duplicate entries
  • Assigning Sales Reps, Territories, and Permissions
    • Sales Rep Management - add sales reps
    • Batch Edit, Bulk Assign - use system tools to match a customer to a sales rep/territory

2. Mastering Data Import

Data Import can save large amounts of time by automating the entry of orders and acknowledgements, shipping reports, and commission statements. In MRSware use - Data Import Wizard and/or Sales Import.

How do I import my reports?  What should I use from the manufacturers' reports?
